On the TEE๐Ÿ“: Part 9

Thursday Everyday Evangelism

The Power of Compassion

The Scripture:

Matthew 9:36 "When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd."

The Devotional:

Have you ever stopped to look at the world around you with eyes of compassion? Jesus did, and it moved Him to action. When He saw the crowds, the Bible says He had compassion on them because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.

You might be thinking โ€“ โ€œThe world's problems seem so big and overwhelming. How can my compassion make a difference?" Well, let me tell you, it all starts with a heart that's willing to see and feel the pain and brokenness around us.

The Point to Ponder:

When we open our eyes to the struggles and needs of those in our communities, when we allow ourselves to be moved by their stories and circumstances, it can be a powerful catalyst for sharing the hope and love of Christ. Because you see, the gospel isn't just a set of doctrines or beliefs โ€“ it's a message of healing, restoration, and redemption for a hurting world.

โ€œTake a walk or drive through your neighborhood or community this week and ask God to give your eyes of compassion. Look for opportunities to show kindness, offer a listening ear, or share a word of encouragement with someone who might be struggling.โ€
— The Dare

The Reflection:

When have you experienced the power of compassion in your own life, and how can you better reflect the compassionate heart of Christ to those around you?
