CALL TO WORSHIP [⁞] (Litany of Empowerment)
Leader:
I am a part of the fellowship of the unashamed, I have Holy Ghost Power; the dye has been cast, I have stepped over the line. The decision has been made; I am a disciple of Jesus Christ! I won’t look back... let up… slow down…back up…or be still!
People:
My past is redeemed. My present makes sense. My future is secure. I am finished and done with low living, sight walking, small planning, colorless dreams, tamed visions, mundane talking, cheap living, and dwarfed goals!
Leader:
I no longer need pre-eminence, prosperity, position, promotions, plaudits, or popularity! I do not have to be right, first tops, recognized, praised, regarded, or rewarded. I now live by faith, lean on the Lord, run with patience, lifted by prayer, and labor by Holy Ghost power.
People:
My face is set. My goal is heaven. My road is narrow. My way is rough. My guide reliable, my mission clear. I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, turned away, deluded, or delayed!
Leader:
I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of the adversary, negotiate at the table of the enemy, ponder at the pool of popularity, or meander in the maze of mediocrity.
All:
I WON’T GIVE UP…SHUT UP… LET UP… until I have stayed up, stored up, prayed up, paid up, worked up, for the cause of Christ. I am a disciple of Jesus Christ. I must go till He comes, give till I drop, teach till all know, and work till He stops me. And when Jesus comes, He will have no problems recognizing me because He’ll remember I was the one he empowered to make a difference!

SCRIPTURE READING [⁞]
PREFACE TO THE DECALOGUE Hymn #69 [⁞]
From all that dwell below the skies,
Let the Creator’s praise arise;
Let the redeemer’s name be sung,
Through every land by every tongue.”
DECALOGUE (Summary) [⁞]
Leader:
Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
GLORIA PATRI [⁞] ♫♫♫
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen
AFFIRMATION OF FAITH (The Apostles Creed) [⁞]
I believe in God, the Father almighty, Maker of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, and was crucified, dead, and buried. The third day he arose from the dead; he ascended to heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God, the Father Almighty: from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Church Universal, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

THE THIRD SUNDAY OF ADVENT:JOY [⁞]
♫♫♫ We will walk in the light, beautiful light,
Come where the dewdrops of mercy are bright,
Shine all around us by day and by night,
Jesus the Light of the world. ♫♫♫
Leader:
Today our focus is on JOY. Jesus is our joy. Jesus brings us joy. Rejoice with all your heart for Jesus is our joy! In this season of reflection and repentance we can have joy knowing that Jesus has forgiven us and restored our joy.
People:
Joy is liberating. Joy sets us free. We will rejoice with gladness, eager for the day of Jesus’ return when we will have perpetual joy.
Leader:
Today we light the pink candle of joy, signifying our joyful focus on Jesus’ second coming. Let every heart rejoice
All:
Joy liberates! Joy gives confidence! God has given us His joy. In this season of Advent let us share joy with the unloved and the outcast, the discriminated and the unwanted, the overlooked and the underserved. We praise you God, for your liberating joy!
